We’re giving 30 growers sufficient ARGOS to treat your whole potato store.
We will also provide technical advice on how to optimise conditions for sprout control in your store.
The deadline for applications is 31st October 2024.
What is ARGOS?
ARGOS is a sprout suppressant based on pure, food grade orange oil and approved for use in organic systems. ARGOS has a contact action and works very quickly by drying out and removing the sprouts. This allows maximum use of natural dormancy or benefit gained from in-field use of FAZOR.
ARGOS offers maximum flexibility – it has no MRL and treated potatoes can be unloaded just 48 hours later. Normal ventilation can resume only 24 hours after treatment – saving energy costs, minimising weight loss and allowing flexibility in use of ventilation to manage wet crops etc.
ARGOS can be used in potatoes for the fresh, chip shop or processing markets, with no effect on fry colour and leaving no taint or odour.
